Glen Eira Council Cafe ProjectSector: Retail and HospitalityValue: $400,000 Description: This project comprises the fitout of a new cafe facility located within the Glen Eira Aquatic Centre, Melbourne. A new commercial kitchen and joinery form part of the new build works. New services will adjoin existing base building services along with specialist lighting and alterations and additions to hydraulic and fire systems. The project is due for completion in early December 2011. |

University of Canberra Data Centre ProjectSector: Education & TechnologyValue: $2,000,000 Description: This project involves the construction of a new data centre to provide redundancy for the University of Canberra information technology systems. A redundant data centre located in the Scrivener Building in Bruce will be upgraded to a fully functional high spec data centre complete with access floor, CRAC units, and gas suppression system. External works involve the construction of chiller slabs, generator enclosure, retaining walls and associated excavation works. |

ACT Magistrates Court Security Upgrade ProjectSector: GovernmentValue: $1,050,000 Description: This project involves the design and construction of physical and electronic security enhancements to the ACT Magistrates Court. External works consist of a new ramp and security fencing around the site. Internal works involve upgrade to the electronic access control system and entry doors within the public waiting and loading dock areas. The project is staged and a bulk of the demolition works is to be performed outside business hours to ensure adjacent building tenants are not inconvenienced. |

DEEWR Melbourne Office FitoutSector: GovernmentValue: $650,000 Description: Fitout alterations and additions to accommodate Level 4 and 8 executive located at 414 La Trobe Street Melbourne. Existing ceilings, meeting rooms and amenities are to be demolished and replaced with executive offices and conference room with sophisticated audio visual package. Alterations to existing mechanical, lighting and fire services form part of the works. Joinery, operable walls and light fittings were procured prompty to meet the tight timeframe. This project is to be delivered in 6 weeks adjacent to occupied office space which will be carefully supervised to ensure business continuity is achieved. |

Australian Institute of Management ProjectSector: CommercialValue: $2,650,000 Description: This project involves the demolition of existing tenancies to create a 900sqm high quality and innovative training facility for the Australian Institute of Management. The fitout consists of large training rooms with sophisticated audio visual and lighting, offices, open plan workstations, commercial kitchen, amenities and lounge/breakout areas. Detailed joinery, wall paneling, polish concrete floors, exposed ceilings and baffles, specialist lighting, graphics and furniture form part of a detailed FFE package. |

Community and Public Sector Unit Fitout ProjectSector: CommercialValue: 1,210,000 Description: This project involves the staged demolition and fitout of office space and training rooms on Level 1 and 2 of 40 Brisbane Avenue, Barton. SMI has been engaged as Construction Managers to deliver this project over two stages within a ten week program with CPSU occupying the site. New floor finishes, workstations, offices, meeting rooms and break out areas are to be constructed to reinvigorate current office accommodation. A 90 person training and conference room facility forms part of the Level 2 works. The management of client relocation, defects and ongoing maintenance is important to the success of this project. |
